Fry Baby Fry!

So why do a whole page devoted to frying? Because as a low carber traditionally frying is one of the biggest no-nos. For me it was something I simply was not willing to part with. So, after much experimentation I found what my family and I believe is the perfect substitution for white flour....Soy Flour.

Soy Flour is basically my secret weapon. You can bake with it. You can fry with it. No, it does not taste funny. No, it does not have a weird texture. I can fry you up some pork chops in Soy Flour and you would not know the difference. No kidding, it's what I'm doing right now as I write this post.

I even make onion rings with it.

Here's the nutritional value for Soy Flour-
Serving Size 1/4 Cup

Calories 80
Total Fat 0
Cholesterol 0
Sodium 0
Total Carbs 10
Dietary Fiber 6
Protein 14

So subtract the fiber from the carbs and that leaves you with 4 measly net carbs. And remember, that's for a 1/4 Cup. Most of my recipes call for something close to that for the entire recipe. If you have 6 or so servings, that's 4 net carbs divided by 6, carry the 2, square root of 67 and there you have it. Less than one carb per serving!!

So give Soy Flour a try. Season it up with some salt and pepper and enjoy. You can find it in the regular baking aisle next to the regular white flour.
